 | 09:56 am Can any of you suggest a way of using bananas that doesn't involve smoothies, waffles, bread, or dessert? I'm not necessarily trying to use up bananas. We usually put them in the freezer when they start going bad and make bread out of them when we accumulate enough. I just want an interesting way to use them. Are there any savory banana recipes? Thanks.

She'll be here tomorrow, whether she's ready or not. She'll be 3 1/2 weeks late.

Huh.
I like to slice them and eat them in sandwiches, but that uses bread. Bananas are surprisingly tasty on bread-and-butter sandwiches.
I also like to slice them and put them on cereal.
Chop 'em into a salad.
Uh, tempura-batter and fry 'em?

I made a savory recipe once that included banana in the dish. And chicken, pancetta, corn, heavy cream, some other shit. If you're interested I'll post it here for you.

Maduros are deep fried sweet plantains, so I imagine you could do the same with bananas.

Chili and banana wok.
300g pork meat in slices 1 small spoon with fresh (cut) ginger 2 bananas 1/2 dl cashew nuts 3 regular spoons of sweet chili sauce (I'm not that familiar with the American measuring system, sorry). :)
1. Heat the meat along with ginger in a pan or wok. 2. Carefully add banana slices and nuts. 3. Add the chili sauce and serve with rice or noodles. 4. Eat strange dinner |
